I did an Observational Drawing of my hand. An Observational Drawing is a drawing of what you see. I felt that I drew the outline of the hand well. However, i felt that i struggled with trying to make it a 3-D drawing instead it turned out as a 2-D (In my opinion-this seems more like a silhouette or outline) drawing. I regret rubbing the pencil with my finger to have the graphite blend. I think that if i had arched all of the finger wrinkles to provide a curved aspect to the piece of art, it would have made the fingers look 3-D. As for the hand, I think it would have been wise if i had made it so the shading blended cleaner and better and curved in some manner to give it a 3-D/warped look. I felt I was able to draw a hand just not in 3-D.
On the first day as an evaluation assignment, we were assigned to draw a corner of the classroom. I drew my corner which contained a cheetah poster, T.V., art shelf, and more. I utilized shading and using different values in this assignment. I tried to make a point of utilizing attention to detail (I was exact with drawing the cheetah in its proper grids as depicted in real life and the belongings in the shelves). I learned that it is bad to make shadows by rubbing the graphite with your finger once its been applied to the paper because this only creates an unappealing smudge. This is my blog page where I will be posting my artwork from Drawing Class.
